We are incredibly proud to announce the launch of Money Donut, a new website for small business owners providing clear, authoritative and up-to-the-minute guidance on all aspects of finance, accounting, tax, insurance and pensions.
Together, the Donuts are already the UK’s single most visited online destination for business advice, with half a million unique users every month.
Now, we have joined forces with global business insurance provider Travelers to launch Money Donut.
Number one for business advice
Money Donut joins the highly successful Donut family of websites – aimed at supporting small business owners, entrepreneurs and sole traders.
The Donuts cover all aspects of running a business, including starting up, marketing, technology and law. In addition, Sectors Donut has guidance on how to start up 200 different types of business.
It means that Donut is now the largest online business advice resource – and it’s completely free.
Money, money, money
Finance, tax, accounts, insurance, pensions. It goes without saying that this is the stuff that really matters to business owners; it’s what keeps them up at night.
Are they paying too much tax? Are they complying with ever-changing legislation? Are they covered if something goes wrong? Will they ever be able to retire?
Money worries certainly come with the territory. But small businesses have never been under so much pressure to adapt to change. SMEs need guidance like never before – with the introduction of auto-enrolment pensions, the prospect of Making Tax Digital, the new dividend tax, changes to IR35, and many other tweaks to the tax system.
In fact, recent budgets have been so chock-full of changes that even HMRC is reported to be struggling to keep up.
And then there are the constant u-turns. Former chancellor George Osborne joked that his budgets were like the 5:2 diet – “After two out of every five budgets I eat some of my own words.” Philip Hammond seems to have continued that tradition with his u-turn on National Insurance rises for the self-employed in March.
Not only are the goalposts constantly shifting, but traditional sources of advice have dried up with the closure of many Government support schemes, including the Business Growth Service.
Expert guidance for SMEs
That’s why Money Donut could not have come at a better time.
“With the launch of Money Donut, business owners can now get much-needed advice on all of the financial aspects of running a business,” said Paul Hudson, marketing director at Travelers UK, which sponsors Money Donut. “It is exactly what businesses need to help them thrive.”
If you’ve got questions about tax, managing your accounts, insurance or pensions, Money Donut has the answers. It just proves that when it comes to managing your money, donuts are good for you!
