Goodbye Grove; Viva Victoria

On Friday, BHP Information Solutions moved from the Redland premises it had occupied for twelve enjoyable years, and headed to pastures new.

Fond farewell – we bid goodbye to our Grove Road office

Following months of scheduling and floor plans, and a further two weeks of painting window frames, doors and staircase spindles, it was moving day! It took a real team effort to dismantle the desks, move the furniture and sort all the miscellaneous items into boxes, but we had everything packed in double-quick time!

Then it was time to hit the road in our convoy of vehicles and make our way to our new office – 111 Victoria Street in the heart of Bristol.

Our head of corporate accounts, Jo, co-ordinated the move and ensured that there was order amongst the chaos. The next few hours were spent re-assembling desks, repositioning furniture and allocating homes for items accumulated over 21 years.   It was hard work, particularly as our new office is based on the fourth floor of the Victoria Street building. Suffice to say there were a lot of sore limbs on Saturday!!

Whilst the rest of the team were busy unpacking, our IT co-ordinator Imi had the unenviable task of trying to get us connected as soon as possible, both online and via telephone. As always, he kept his cool under pressure and the transition between offices was relatively smooth. Nice one, Imi!

Everyone pulled together to get the office ready for Monday morning, and now it looks great. You would never know that we only moved in on Friday. We’re looking forward to a long and successful future in our new premises.
